Napokon sve istresam u porculansku zdjelu, bacam krupnu sol i mljeveni papar unutra, zalijevam to maslinovim uljem i kvasinom, te palim i drugo svjetlo. Blago kuca. Bez dozvole sjeda nasuprot nje. August je, ali tu je izuzetno hladno. Nastavlja razgledati. Time se branite. U tom trenutku njihov razgovor prekida ulazak mlade crvenokose medicinske radnice.

Ona nervozno gasi tek pripaljenu cigaretu. Cupka nogama, gleda na sat. Uzima torbu, ustaje, laganim koracima dolazi do vrata.

Poput hljeba. Jeza prostruji tijelom. Na prozore je navukla tamne zastore. Svoje ime? Pripada li ono njoj? Pripadati nekome? Osjetila je blagu nesvjesticu. Sjede pored prozora. Kojim jezikom da govorim da biste me razumjeli?!

Nisam zainteresirana. Dosadno je. Toliko o tome. Ne budite bezobrazni! Isto vrijeme, isti dan, naredne sedmice? Donesite mi to. Da ne dolazim? Doktorica nije odgovorila, nije to ni bilo pitanje. Njemu, njoj, svima Ali njenog glasa nije se mogla sjetiti. Umrla je prije nekoliko godina. Napisala sam ovo. Kome si pisala? Ona je mrtva. Naglo ustade, stade pored prozora. Imala je 27 godina. Bila je lijepa.

Ja sam kriva! Jebena prostorija! Zavisi kako i kada gledamo. Jesi li ga ikada razbila?

Dva puta. Vidjela sam sebe, zato sam ga razbila. Ali ona zna, nju doziva. Svuda su velika debela hrastova stabla. Iza nje stoji ona. Znate, jednom sam sanjala.

Nisam dugo pisala. Bolno je pisati, ali i ne pisati. A, onda se pojavio on, i na nju sam zaboravila.

Trajalo je to nekoliko godina. I onda U maju, iste godine, ubila se I to je bilo ravno smrti. Ja znam da Bog postoji. Tako sam umorna. Smrt je san. Vergilije je san nazvao bratom smrti. Je li je uspjela uvjeriti? Je li sebe uvjerila? Ti, doista, nikada nisi ni postojao. Ne, nemoj misliti Nije zbog tebe. Ne uzimaj si pravo! Ne osmjehuj se Ti si iluzija.

Ja sam te izmislila! Oni su postojali. I ona, i beba, i on Svuda bjelina. Bijele tablete. Polako ustade iz kreveta.

Krenu prema prozoru. Glavu nagnu na njegovo okno. Popila si ih? Gotovo da zausti A ja nisam luda! Postojali su Imam dokaze! Postojali su, trebam li to milion puta kazati!!!

A, zatim, prekrijte me plahtom bijelom Bile su zaobljene, glatke, sjajne i hladne. Pomislila je - hladetina. Glupa asocijacija. Bila je puka konstatacija, gola obavijest. Kako smo je skinuli do samoga kraja. S polaganim otkrivanjem karata. S polaganim napredovanjem do cilja. Nije odgovorila. Nesigurnost, pomislila je. I strah. Nedostaje samo zvuk motora pod prozorom. Kamo ih ona vodi? Izgledalo je svakim danom sve beznadnije. Bili su daleko jedno od drugog.

Bili su i sve dalji. Kriza srednjih godina, govorili su jedni. Kako banalno!

Vjerojatno prljava. Lutanje, alkohol, usputni seks. Nije mogao govoriti.

Vidio sam da mu je zlo. Usro se od straha. Nije ga gledala. O slobodi. O svojoj slobodi. Mislila je o toliko toga. Hej, tata, ja sam! Neki ne odgovaraju, gledaju kroz mene. Zaboravio sam rukavice.

Neki umjetni kamen.

Nije me prijavio. Mi smo izgubljena tijela i zato nevidljiva.

Ja ne moram psovati. Ja ne moram vikati. Ja sam strpljiva. Kamo sam se to izgubila? Gledam stepenice i brojim ih nesvjesno nekoliko puta na dan. Vrata se otvaraju. Klize natrag. Bole me mali zglobovi na rukama. Gibam ih. Brojim pokrete. Zakoni su pisani za papir. Ne znam tko mi je to rekao.

Nemam ni blizu 37 godina koliki mi je broj cipela. Ali imam strah. Kukavica sam. Ona ih unezvjereno broji i broji i plovi s njima.

Cijeli dan. Gleda u mislima taj film, lista slike iz novina, s televizije. Imam li i ja to pravo?

Kada bude star, bolestan i bez love.

Vidljivost je slaba, a brzina velika. Malo gleda u slova, malo u promet pred sobom. On se nasmije. Brzo lista. Kada sam bio bezobrazan? On dodirom prsta mijenja sliku i sada se vidi traka ceste i auto na njoj. Njihov auto.

Kud bih tek s njima! A sekunde su u prometu presudne. Ja bih sve to zabranila. On me vodi. Mogu sve predvidjeti. To je igra. Voda se cijedi niz stakla. Ona bulji pred sebe.

One ofarbane u plavo, on tamno sivo-sijed, no svi preplanuli i nasmijani. Odmah smo simultano znali kako smo superiorniji.

A valjda, nezainteresirano odgovara Mile.

Milena Jokova. Nije mi mnogo trebalo. Pratio ga je u stopu poput sjenke.

Ne dvorimo nikoga. Ajde, Joko, valjda Nije se mnogo promijenilo od kad si vrat slomio put Amerike. Evo me tu, stojim ispred tebe. Ne zbunjuj to dijete. Uhvatio se za naslon stolice i sjeo. Crnpurast je na njega. A znam, razumijem te ja. Velja je muka na tebe bila. Ne razumjedoh te dobro, Joko. Pije li ovaj tvoj mali rakiju?

Tako ti oni to zovu. Lijepo ime, vala, lijepo. I posljednje. Tek kasnije je to saznala. E, on mi ga je preveo. Prije toga sam ti majku sahranila. Sve sam lijepo organizovala.

Sve smo pripremili. Nama dosta.

Nosi to nazad. Evo, dvaes i pet punih godina! Zbogom, Joko! Suprug i otac, prije svega.

Kako pojeli? Meni je to majka rekla na samrti. Ja to nisam ni znao do svoje sedamnaeste godine.

I'm an American citizen You're not supposed to think instead of me! E, pa, gospodine moj See you in the court, you Ode ta put Dupca!

Sudbinski yin i yang A gdje?

Nikog nije bilo. Nakon nekoliko minuta pozvale su ga. Krv je liptila. Osjetio je trnce i mlake vodoskoke. Htio je plakati. Postupno je odmicao pogled kako se epruveta punila krvlju do kraja. Ta odvratna slutnja.
