Feb 11, · Nirvana – Incesticide Label: Geffen Records – GEF , Geffen Records – GEF, Sub Pop – GEF , Sub Pop – GEF/5(). The edgier Nirvana we didn't hear on "Nevermind" surfaces on "Incesticide," an assortment of pre-"Nevermind" singles and other material that was circulating among the fan community prior to its release. Rawer than their major label debut and yet poppier in spots than "In Utero," this album lives somewhere in the ether between both of those outings/5(). Location: NYC. Bill Why Man likes this. Ahhhh vinyl. I was hoping for a CD deluxe edition like the others were. I like the multiple CD sets. But dont have it on vinyl so this will be a purchase. Location: Queensville, Ontario. The RSD is mastered by Chris Bellman, at probably the same mastering facility -- not sure it will be worth it if you have theto get the The sounds good!

I have In Utero, Bleach, and Incesticide and they all have a few really good songs, and a few not so great ones.
Nirvana doesn't see my cd player too often though. Brilliant review although i think bleach and in utero are better albums. JKS u can not beat Aneryism, a crime thats not on the greates hits Basically the whole album i like, some songs are bit half-half, but oh well. Big Long Now i think is the most underated song on this album. Love the review, Zero. As a matter of fact, I actually listened to this album every single day when I first got it my last birthday. Good times. Album Rating: 4.
So much better than the "incomplete" review. Great album too. I think that an album that not many people have heard and one that is quite underrated merits a general review, and not a track-by-track one.
Other than that, well done. Nirvana Incesticide 4. This has to be the most under-rated Nirvana album. A lot of the material was written back in the early Nirvana days in Olympia and Aberdeen, WA, which is why most of the songs have the aggressive-raw-though sound, similar to the songs on the Bleach album.
The album collects early singles, b-sides and outtakes. Like most compilation albums the songs are not as polished as a regular release, but this works very well for Nirvana since their music isn't meant to be over-produced anyway. It's Nirvana, so the sound is going to be raw, and since these are b-sides, there is a very grungy sound, and less of the pop side of it. I will also mention that there are a handful of little-known covers in the album.
Enjoy the review. Dive This is one of my favorite Nirvana songs. Just can't get that chorus out of your head. It's a fantastic opener with a bass line that pulls you in from the get-go. It was originally released as a single in the summer of With Sliver included. Sliver Sliver is a childhood portrait that is both amusing and mildly chilling, with a great flow. It's a great fast driven song.
Stain Stain is also a fine example of the transition from "Bleach" to "Nevermind. I can really relate the lyric, "I'm a stain. Been A Son This song grows and grows on you the more you listen. It was recorded at a BBC session in the fall of '91 too. Turnaround "Turnaround" throws you for a loop stuck between two rather upbeat songs, but is great in its own right, LP).
Good cover of a Devo song. It was recorded in late for the John Peel session in October of that year. Molly's Lips This is also a John Peel session recording. It's such an upbeat and happy song, definitely one of my favorites. It's extremely entertaining, not to mention a cover the Vaselines. I've listened to the original version of "Molly's Lips," and I'll tell you that Nirvana brought their music from a song with just potential to one of the greatest songs I've ever heard.
Again, it's a cover of a Vaselines song the third and final cover. Son of a LP) Another vaselines cover. The lyrics are well written in this song. And the instruments fit well. The bridge consists of the guitar doin a variation on the verse and then the guitar and bass going up an octave and doin the same thing.
Nice song. I didnt like it at first but it grows on you. New Wave Polly- I dont like this song too much. Its the exact same as the normal polly i think just sped up, and truned electric. Its not terrible but its definitly the worst song on the album and its still good.
It has a lot of energy, and its a nice listen but not a stand out track. Beeswax- Nice drum intro. Then the guitar and bass come Saint Vitus - Incesticide (Vinyl with a really cool guitar riff im not if the bass does the same thing.
You cant make out much of what kurt says but man this songs awesome. Its one of my favorites. The bridge is really cool. Not very long though. But if it were long it would be repetitive and annoying.
Its an awesome song. Downer- Starts with a fast bass and fast drums. The guitar is really good because it doesnt dominate the song if played the whole time it probably would.
You cant make out much of wat klurts saying but its still awesome. Mexican Seafood- I love this song. The guitar is the best on the whole cd in my Saint Vitus - Incesticide (Vinyl. The bass and drums fit perfectly. And kurts lyrics somewat comprehensible.
The bridge is the best though. This song is my favorite one on this album. The outro is really cool too. Hairspray Queen- Starts with an awesome funky bass line. The guitar is really sweet in this song.
With a really grungey sound. The drums are nothing complicated but they fit the bass line perfect and Saint Vitus - Incesticide (Vinyl bass line fits the guitar so so do the drums.
The way kurt sings in this song is really awesome. Its really unique. But not the bad unique. The solo is just a normal kurt solo. Its not a very long solo.
This is an awesome song. Aero Zeppelin- This song is really awesome. Its got really good lyrics. They're very catchy and you can understand the words. I like the drums in this song a lot.
Theyre perfect for it. The instruments are the best wen theres no singing. It gets into really cool playing. This is one of the best songs on this album. Big Long Now- Starts out with a spookyish guitar then the drums and bass come in and it blends perfectly. Kurt mumbles the verse in a voice that matches the spooky feeling perfectly.
The song loses its spooky feeling a bit and kurt screams but not loud screaming. Then it goes back to the spooky feeling wen kurt goes: ooooooh. This song is very well written. The lyrics are really good for the song. For the outro they just Saint Vitus - Incesticide (Vinyl the verse and slow it down as they go. Its really good.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't love a 2LP release.
